Remember, that road legal pit bikes come in different budget sizes; hence, you may need to focus your search on the range that you can afford, making your search all the more difficult. Moreover, you also would need to consider your personal preferences and future plans; otherwise, it wouldn’t make any sense at all to buy something that will not be totally useful to you.
Keep in mind that buying road legal bikes is not like buying clothes. There are many things you will need to consider so that you’ll be able to find the perfect one. Why is there a need to go for the perfect one? If you want to have the best experience and make the most of your investment, there’s nothing else you’d want to do but go for the best.
Having said that, it would be wise to take out a pen and paper and list down all the things you would have to take into consideration to make a wise purchase. Your list should include, your budget, your skills in riding (are you already an expert rider or just a beginner?), your reflexes and your weight. Obviously, if you are on the heavy side, you must look for a bike that can stand your weight.
If you find it quite difficult to look for a street legal dirt bike, your next best option is to buy the variety that can be easily converted into a road legal pit bike. If handling some tools come as a second nature to you, by all means, take advantage of your skill and convert your dirt bike into a street legal one; or perhaps, let a pro do the job for you.
